109-3256 – Drip drip drip

When I sketched this water was leaking into our kitchen cupboards from the apartment above! I had to empty the cupboard, including these kitchen tissue rolls, to stop things getting ruined. Drawing things inside plastic bags is a difficult subject (though @tmlnkv on instagram is brilliant at it), but I did my best.

  1. What a remarkable sketch and story! Interpreting a sudden, disruptive moment like a kitchen leak and turning it into an artwork shows great creativity and resilience. Capturing everyday items—kitchen tissue rolls, plastics bags—at such a tense time is not only visually interesting but also deeply meaningful. Drawing objects inside plastic bags is notoriously challenging, demanding attention to light, transparency, and reflection, yet your effort brings those subtle qualities to life.

Your composition transforms household chaos into a scene of artistic contemplation, echoing the work of artists who find beauty in daily routines and ordinary objects. The way you’ve presented vulnerable, mundane items inside plastic, with delicacy and detail, demonstrates both technical skill and expressive honesty. It is through such subjects—unexpected, personal, and quietly dramatic—that art truly touches viewers
