1610 – Bike bag

Here is another sketch of a Christmas present – a small bag that straps to my bike, with a pouch for a phone – from one of my brother-in-laws. It seems I got lots of black and grey presents this year – difficult to draw and not so colourful.

1609 – Sports bag

Here is another sketch of one of my Christmas presents. This is a little elasticated sports bag for carrying your phone when you are running or cycling – I have already used it going for a run.

1608 – My favourite time of the year

My favourite time of the year is any time I get to use some new paints. These were bought for me for Christmas by my daughters – Holbein Artists Watercolors. I got Alizarin Crimson, Cobalt Green, Lemon Yellow and Paynes Grey. This year I am hoping to sketch all the Christmas presents I was given (to say thank you to each person) – this is my first.

1607 – Four cars

We spent part of our ‘boxing day’ at the car mechanic’s, discovering that one of the radiator fans is busted and needs to be replaced. Not a nice Christmas surprise! At least I managed to do this sketch – which I finished at home.

1605 – Christmas dinner

Here is sketch from a few days before Christmas – and we ate this yesterday, roasted along with coriander seeds, garlic and cauliflower. Frankly I don’t know why some people hate broccoli – I love it….but then I also like brussel-sprouts.

1604 – Christmas came early for my feet

On Sunday, when we were at the mall, we bought my Christmas present and I have been wearing them ever since – Birkenstock slippers for wearing around the house. Very comfortable and supportive. Happy Christmas to everyone who follows my daily sketches – looking forward to a New Year when we can go out without a mask!

1603 – Empty mall

Over the weekend we took a trip to the mall and while we sat and waited for some brunch I started this sketch (finishing it at home). This part of the mall was pretty empty – but surprisingly the main part (and the supermarket) was crowded….too crowded for social distancing that’s for sure.

1602 – Christmas slipper

I’ve been a bit lax with posting my sketches recently – but I am still doing them each day. This is another of our odd Christmas decorations – this is actually a souvenir I was given when I finished work in Syria, but we hang it up every Christmas as it looks kind of festive (to me).
