1187 – Sungka

Last Friday we drove down to Lobo, Batangas a municipality on the coast – to spend a weekend at a little Airbnb place on the beach. The house had lots of character and lots of new things to sketch. I drew this on the evening we got there. Sungka is a game played with cowrie shells – I can’t remember how to play but the aim is to collect as many shells in the circular holes at the end. These kind of boards are a popular souvenir, but I thought this one was particularly interesting.
