1655 – Rice gods, Shambala Silang

Last Sunday for our anniversary we went to a little place out of town called Shambala. They describe themselves on their website as a ‘living museum of arts, culture and heritage’ – they have some lovely terraced gardens, lots of reconstructed Ifugao traditional houses, a gallery and a restaurant (serving vegetarian food as well!). This sketch was done in the gallery – these are original wooden carvings of the rice god (Bulul), some of which were columns from houses.
