I seem to have received a lot of black coloured Christmas presents. This one (a travel multi-plug with a little pouch) was from one of my nieces – very useful as there are also a couple of USB ports on the side of the plug! I believe many watercolour artists refrain from using pure black paint, but instead mix their own? That’s what I did with this one anyway – using burnt umber, Prussian blue and crimson. In this way you get more interesting black variations. However I did use a black ink pen here and there for the darkest bits – plus a Gelly Roll pen for the white highlights.
