1713 – Indian mangos

If in doubt draw fruit – that’s my motto in the evenings when I am tired and stuck for something to sketch. Apparently this type of mango commonly grows in India – hence the name in the Philippines. They are usually eaten while still green and a little sour – peeled and cut into slices to dip into Bagoong (fermented shrimp paste).

1675 – Green to yellow

These bananas were completely green the day we bought them – then overnight they turned yellow, hence the title. I do love banana’s – chopped up in my cereal for breakfast and in a sandwich with peanut butter for lunch. I’d happily have peanut butter and banana sandwiches for lunch everyday…come to think of it that’s what I did most of the 7 years I lived in Cambodia!

1632 – Apples

I have been a bit too busy to post over the last few days – but I am still keeping up the sketching. This one speaks for itself – just some fruit on the coffee table. There are a couple of Indian mangoes sneaking in there too!

1620 – Five fruits

Here is another sketch from last weekend – done after coming back from the wet market (the fruit and veg market) – when my wife went a bit mad in the fruit section. We bought chicos (sapodilla), oranges, milk fruit (star apple), avocado and there is green apple there too. I think that day we also bought banana’s, plantain and strawberries!
