I sketched this as I waited for my wife to come back from her operation in PGH. The doc gave me a scare when I was called down to the OR. But it turned out it was just so she could tell me that everything went well! Now it’s just recovery time. After I did this sketch I realised the chair actually folds out into another bed…for a second watcher! Somehow I keep extending my sketches onto the next page…maybe I should switch to a square format sketchbook?

I enjoy the ‘liveliness’ of your sketches. And great that your wife is doing well.
Thank you!
Hope your wife is feeling better – you are inspiring ME to try my hand at sketching in a medical setting. So far I only managed to load a sketchbook and brush pen into my purse, not actually USE it!!!
Well that’s a start! I find waiting (in hospitals, airports etc.), to be much more enjoyable if I have a sketchbook with me!
And yes she is well on the road to recovery thanks!
I hope your wife is healing quickly. I like how your painting extends into the next page – just like your chair extends outwards! Sometimes painting beyond boundaries can be a good thing!
She’s doing very well thanks! And thank you for the encouraging words too!
