Here is the third sketch I did at the CCP Pasinaya arts festival with #UskManila. This building is the Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (Black Box Theatre) – under which all the workshops were taking place. I had to move half way through sketching this, because some friendly soul parked right next to me blocking my view!

The architectural sensibility is well mapped, the feeling of the building as occupying space. Amid all that, I am drawn to that window — the glass feels so true to the ambient light of a moment, the way it catches the shadow and the light and feels so solid yet transparent. The architectural grounding makes that effect of light feel so true. The one supports the other.
Being an architect helps I guess. But I also like have some big blank spaces
