Today on the way back from the supermarket this white house with a red roof (and the blue plastic hoarding) stood out brightly against the dull but menacing tower blocks behind and I just had to stop and sketch. This was done in watercolour, ink and soluble graphite.

Absolutely awesome. My favorite of your sketches so far.
Wow, thanks! Funny, it’s only a tiny bit of the sketch, but while I was painting the grass in the right foreground, I was thinking of your work
I think the whole composition of your sketch is great. I have a picture like yours in my mind for a long time: an old tiny house lost and found inbetween some highrises. I found the motif a few years ago in Detroit and made a rough sketch, but never painted it yet because I wanted to sharpen my abilities before I mess up with it. 🙂
I’m sure you’ll make a great job of it. Looking forward to seeing such a painting from you
