These are two pieces of public art in High Street Bonifacio Global City. The bear is called Tinstaej #85 (There Is No Such Thing As Endless Joy) by Conrado Velasco. The orange/red things are free standing floor chimes made of metal. It’s called Presence, by Reg Yuson. People are supposed to nudge the chimes to make sounds and bring good vibes to the park [according to the BGC website – http://www.bgc.com.ph/article/presence%5D.
I drew this in graphite pencil, followed by watercolour, chalk pastel and a bit of watercolour pencil. I recently rediscovered an old Derwent water soluble pencil – 8B I think – it makes great dark lines when dipped in water.

Aptly named bear, he’s kind of ominous looking! The contrast provided by the red chimes is wonderful.
Yeah that contrast is what attracted me
I googled the street and found the bear, as I had googled madrone and found Margaret’s species of tree. Other artists’ drawings make one aware of new things around the world!
