Visiting the graves of my father and mother-in-law is a nice opportunity to sketch in a peaceful spot with lots of nature around. I’ve drawn here many, many times. I did this one with a Uniball pen, watercolour, acrylic ink, and chalk pastels.

I love this sketch, I enjoy plein air painting in graveyards, I have had mixed reviews on this. I don’t think it is odd at all, they make great paintings though.
Here in the Philippines, spending time at a graveyard and even picnicking there is quite normal!
Yep, I have had many picnics in graveyards, especially when my daughters were younger. 🙂 we have had strange looks though
Your drawing captures the serenity and loveliness of this special place.
Thanks Aletha!
