On our first full day at Dos Palmas resort – which is on an island – it might seem odd, but we took a little boat trip…to another island! This is the sketch I did there – unusually for me, I didn’t use ink!

Still on the first day of our little holiday, here is a wobbly sketch done on the ferry to Dos Palmas where we stayed. The title is part of what was painted on the wall of the cabin: “please wear your life jackets”.

Our little holiday involved taking a ferry to an island. While we waited in an office for the ferry, I sketched this view – looking outside into the street.

Off on a short holiday – beginning with a local flight. Despite feeling sleepy because of the early morning flight, I managed to sketch the dull grey airport lounge.

Cafeño is a little coffee shop in San Juan (well worth a visit on the way back from Laiya in Batangas) which was set up in an old heritage house in the mid-1900s to serve customers of a petrol station. On the tables they have these old sewing machines converted into a quaint combination of cake stand and lamp.
