I’m still not finished with #PantryArtProject sketches…here is one of some coffee my daughter brought back for me from Ecuador. Lucky girl got to go and do two weeks of field work and study in the cloud forests!

Here is another sketch for the #PantryArtProject. I meant to make this very quick as I was tired after a hard day at work…then I started fiddling with it and adding texture with coloured pencils.

As you might tell by the title I was listening to a Dhamma talk while I drew this in the morning before I headed off to work. Something to get me going in the mornings (as well as sketching)! This is what I call my ‘bedside suitcase’…there is a chest of drawers on the other side of the room, but I prefer a lamp next to my bed…so this is my solution!

Here is another sketch done from my balcony on the weekend. I am not sure who owns all these cars as my landlady said that I am the only guest at the moment…so they must belong to her and her family. Somehow the car in front ended up getting stretched in my sketch!

Here is another sketch for the #PantryArtProject – an empty bottle of grapefruit juice – the type that has that unnatural pink colour and is also too sweet. I much prefer the tangier version we can buy at home. I really admire people who can sketch transparent things like bottles and glasses…somehow my attempts look to heavy. This one seemed to get a bit elongated too!

At last I managed to sit outside and sketch – the weather was good, I had the balcony to myself (it services two other apartments) and it was daylight! This is why the place I am staying is called “Town View Villas”…that is the town you can see. How lucky I am to be staying in a place where the town is mostly green!

All the time I was sketching this I was thinking of the terrible business of the Coronavirus that is currently spreading from Wuhan. I’d much rather have a beer than worry about it – best not to think about things in the future but concentrate on the present instead.

Another sketch in my apartment…all seemed to be going OK until I finished and noticed that the seat of the chair on the right can’t possibly fit with its back rest! Perhaps if I cropped this out it would be better.

Here is another sketch for the #PantryArtProject – as the title says, just a little bag of rice. What would a pantry be without this? This is brown rice, which I much prefer.
