42-1375 – Bok choy tonight

We are trying to make our fresh veggies last as long as possible as it’s not that easy to buy them at the moment. When I was at the supermarket on the weekend I had to queue up for two hours and then it was a bit of a mad panic to buy some basics before they sold out. So this sketch is of our dinner ingredients the other night – mixed beans and Bok choy or Chinese cabbage…with a few little added spices and extras.

42-1369 – Dinner, not chopped

Here is another sketch in our kitchen of some veggies laid out ready for chopping up for dinner….I hope they are recognisable? They were roasted together with layers of cheese….yummy. My sister says vegetarian cooking requires too much chopping up…well I guess that is true, but I find the process therapeutic, if you are not in a hurry and especially if you have a lovely sharp knife!

1305 – Celery for cooking

I was thinking of my mum while I was sketching this (and listening to a Dhamma talk which is getting to be a habit) – she likes celery when its fresh and crispy but hates it when it’s cooked. Unfortunately this bunch from my fridge is a bit limp, so cooking it is the only option.
