Day 234 – Home from school

When my daughters come home from school it’s my favourite time of day – not only because I love them, but because I can draw them! Our eldest, Louisa, is exhausted every day and usually has a nap on the couch before beginning homework, so I drew her again today using a UniPin pen and watercolour.

Day 201 – Reflections by the pool

Today I thought I must draw outside instead of stuck in the apartment – so here is another water-colour of the shared swimming pool at our place. I was hoping for a bit of peace and quiet, but as school has been cancelled because of a typhoon (though there is no rain at all), the clubhouse was swarming with children….none in the pool though!

Day 187 – Gulshan Lake Park

Here is one of my last sketches in Dhaka, done on my day off (Friday 7th) – I took a walk to another park. The lake was a brown smudge at the bottom of steep banks, but there were lots of lovely green trees. This was done with a Uni Pin pen, watercolour and watercolour pencils.

Day 122 – Hong Kong airport

This is such a spectacular building that it deserved a rare two page spread in my sketch book. The building (called Chek Lap Kok Airport) is by Foster and Partners and has a fantastic roof/ceiling which was really complicated to draw (let alone design and build!). My drawing was done with a Uni PIN pen, ink wash and water colour pencils.
