Here is the quick doodle I did today. I did start another drawing while waiting to get a haircut but didn’t get close to finishing it as the barber was much faster with the customer before me than I expected. The elephant in the title is the image on the mug.

So, after our cruise we had a day in Chongqing and visited a supposedly historic area called Ciqikou (which means Porcelain Port). Although the streets clearly were ancient, they were lined with hundreds of touristy shops and it was very crowded. We took a little rest in a tea shop, decorated with interesting pictures and movie posters, where I sketched this.

I finally went out to draw yesterday and sat on a damp bench in the square to draw this corner of the guidlhall (which houses some tea rooms). It was pretty cold so I did this quickly in ink and watercolour. Still plenty of tourists wandering around though.

Yesterday afternoon, comfortably settled in my parents house, I painted this while drinking a cup of tea and half watching a BBC programme about Alan Bennett. Very British. This was done in ink and watercolour – Happy Christmas everyone!
