973 – Starbucks in a cave

Here is another very quick sketch I did when I spent all day at the Bureau of Immigration. This branch of Starbucks seems to be built into the fortifications of the old city – in a long stone-vaulted space, a bit like a bomb shelter. I sketched this in just 10 minutes and added the colour at home.

900 – At work below the sign

Trying my hand at getting the Starbucks sign right while two young women pour over their laptop and work. This was done at my usual haunt while waiting for my daughter at gymnastics classes – but this time with my wife who was using up my internet time to research family holidays.

862 – Chairs in chaos again

Here is another sketch of the chairs outside one of my frequent coffee shop haunts (where I work sometimes while I wait for my daughter to do her gymnastics). If you want to compare, the one I did before was No.845 on 8-Sep. I tried to keep the colours of the chairs more monochrome this time…but I’m not sure if it’s an improvement.

856 – Lamps and frames

I missed a day yesterday, so I will try to catch up today. Here is one I did at a coffee shop in Makati. The tall room was lit with long hanging lamps and at the back they had this huge wood-clad column decorated with pictures.

851 – Struggle with chairs

Here is the sketch I did today in the coffee shop. I struggled with the perspective on this one and couldn’t seem to get the chairs right, especially the one in the foreground on the left which ended up as a big brown blob! Can’t win ’em all!
