271 – Pink House

I went out for a nice long walk today, ending up near the church in Lavenham and sat down to do this ink and watercolour sketch of a row of cottages, which is opposite. This is the first page in a new sketch book (back to using Daler Graduate sketchbooks). Even though the paper is thinner it can take a lot of my scratching and scribbling!

Day 224 – Creaminess for breakfast

ace-224-creaminess-for-breakfast-161112-2-wm

Today I had coffee and breakfast in Krispy Creme – the furniture and floor were all the same creamy colour and outside it was rainy and grey. I battled with this a little – adding pastel to water-colour and pencil to try and get the right atmosphere. Funny how even the blandest of settings are enjoyable to look at when you’re drawing.

Day 205 – Blue sea

I painted this (ink, pencil, water-colour and water-colour pencils) on our second day at La Luz beach resort. We spend most of our time relaxing with this fantastic view and swimming with beautiful fishes, hundreds of which can be found only metres away from the beach.

Day 193 – Four things hanging up

For this sketch (which I did on 12-Oct…I am still catching up posting stuff), I decided to make it a bit tighter and use pencil first instead of ink. I colored it with watercolour and watercolour pencils afterwards. The “four things” are a hat from Laya (Bhutan), a lamp from Turkey, a wooden toy from Thailand and a little wooden mask from the Philippines.
