The weather hasn’t been so great recently – today I had spent only a few minutes in the little garden outside my parents house and it started raining….at least I got a moment to paint the clouds! I added pastel to this…my new sketchbook is encouraging me to go back to using some media I haven’t used in a while.

Here is my sketch from this morning in Lavenham. Lots of wonky houses on a fairly cold and cloudy morning. I added some pastel to this one for a change…the watercolour doesn’t take so well to my new sketchbook and I felt like it needed something bolder.

I finally got outside to sketch yesterday. Here is a view of the common basketball court at our place. Everything seemed green (except for the rubbish bins)…even the court…so I kept the colours muted and used mostly greens and blues. I also added some chalk pastel for a change.

Last post of life drawing for a while. This was one of the 30 minute poses and for a change I put in some of the background.

Another longer pose – I think about 15 minutes.

A longer pose – both models were ballet dancers. Very slim and good at holding poses.

This pose was for more than 5 minutes I think. I am using cheap ‘craft’ paper to draw on in these…I find it works well for quick poses.
More from life drawing classes – another 5 minute sketch.

Finally getting round to posting some of the life drawings I did last weekend. This first one was a 5 minute sketch. Others were for longer – up to 30 minutes – this was the one I was most pleased with though.
