Here is the quick sketch I did today from where I had lunch looking out and up to the shoppers (on the next level) in Glorietta mall. It makes sense to me as I was there, but maybe parts look a little abstracted? This was done in ink, watercolour, watercolour pencils, pencil and oil pastels.
A little walk to the nearby coffee shop today. This is their 3D decoration fixed to the wall. Drawn with a fountain pen, pencil and oil pastel.
Sketching kids doing gymnastics yesterday (late post) – I enjoyed picking up on the many bright colours. This was done using pencil and oil pastel.
Trying out a new dip pen nib today – I love to use dip pens as you can vary the line thickness so fluidly, plus they always do unexpected things! I coloured this with oil pastels and watercolour.
Today I was in Makati and had some time to kill in Ayala Triangle park (or what is left of it while they are building on the ‘thin end’ of the triangle). There was an interesting reflection in the glass building looming over the park, so I thought I’d try and capture that. This is done in watercolours, pencil, Uniball pen and oil pastels.
This chapel building in the Greenbelt mall park, has an interesting dome roof – unfortunately I don’t think I captured it that well! I tried out a new Uni Pin 0.3 pen for this – plus added watercolour and oil pastel.
This is one of the blocks of apartments build near Savemore Supermarket near where I live. In the foreground is a Pulmeria Frangipani tree I think. Unfortunately the flowers got lost amongst the greenery.

This is a statue of the Philippines national hero, Jose Rizal, at Paranaque City Hall. I didn’t capture the tree behind him very well, but the yellow blossoms were amazing. For this I used water soluble ink, pencil, oil pastel and acrylic ink.
Today I used almost all the materials I have except ink [so that’s pencil, oil pastels, watercolour and watercolour pencils] – to draw this view out of our common clubhouse and just a speck of swimming pool. I am really getting to like using oil pastels.
