My new apartment living room combines, dining, living, kitchen, my workplace in the evenings and utility – very efficient! I’m grateful for my landlady providing a (huge) washer and tumble drier….though it does feel a bit odd having all this in one one room.

This is the teeny weeny kitchen in the Airbnb place that I am staying in Turks and Caicos – more of a hallway than a kitchen really. The #WorldWatercolorMonth prompt for yesterday was picnic food and the only reference to that in my drawing is that there is a little box of cherry tomatoes on the counter!

I am a bit behind posting sketches again, as I have been down in Brighton. This one was done at my parents house last Friday playing around with a new set of Faber-Castell brush pens (plus some watercolour).

I painted this in my usual watercolour and ink to test out the first page in a new sketchbook (a Monologue) – it has heavy paper but is not very absorbent and is textured. I think it’s going to take a while to get used to it! Missed a drawing yesterday, so will post two today.

I skipped a couple of days sketching as I had a report to finish, so today I am catching up and filling in the gaps with a few quick ink and water-colour drawings. This is meant to be a space saving device in our kitchen, but I always end up head butting the glasses when cooking!

Here it the (ink and water-colour) painting I did today of our jug with umpteen wooden spoons in it – plus a few other things on the worktop. The jug is from a set of Vietnamese china we bought in Cambodia – with a lovely fish motif.
My work load is now increasing so unfortunately my time for sketching is getting squeezed. To overcome this today I stood and sketched (using a Uni Pin pen) while I waited for the spaghetti to cook (and coloured it with watercolour later). On the chopping board is coriander and in the frying pan are mushrooms and onions….yummy!
Here is a very quick sketch done at home, in between driving my youngest daughter to and from a party. Hope to draw something outside tomorrow if I can start early enough to beat the heat.
