Here is my sketch for the Doodlewash May challenge prompt last Friday 18th, which was “Babies”. This photo frame has pictures of my daughters when they were just little things – now they are great big teenagers.

Here is my sketch for the Doodlewash May challenge prompt of “Sketchbooks” for last Wednesday 16th….I’m catching up again. These are the empty sketchbooks that I have lined up – two are Daler Rowney and one is a Sea-white sketchbook from Brighton. At the moment I use up about one a month.

Here is my sketch for the Doodlewash May challenge prompt of “Cookies” for last Tuesday. This was a rather hurried sketch in a coffee shop the other day…because I wanted to eat it! Being British I refer to it as a biscuit rather than a cookie!

Here is my belated sketch for the Doodlewash May challenge prompt of “dolphins” on Monday 14th. We bought these dolphins in Romblon (an archipelagic province in the Philippines) where they have huge deposits of marble (enough to last 3 centuries according to Wikipedia).

I am falling behind again with my sketches – but here is one I did last Sunday following the Doodlewash prompt of “Camera”. This camera doesn’t get used so much these days – it’s too easy to snap a perfectly good photo with a mobile.

I missed a day of sketching yesterday, so I am making up for it today. The Doodlewash prompt yesterday was “beach”, so seeing I am not at the beach (although not long ago I did loads of sketches in Batangas), here are some beach shoes. We bought these booties to protect our tootsies from sharp rocks and coral when we were last on holiday. I used a highlighter pen to get that yellow colour.

The Doodlewash prompt today is “lighthouse”. It’s a pity I can’t see one from here…but instead I drew the neighbours house where they have a light on.

Today’s Doodlewash May challenge prompt is “Jellyfish”. As I always draw from life (and don’t happen to have some jellyfish in a tank), I decided to draw some jelly sweets and a ceramic bowl with fish on it. The bowl is part of a set from Cambodia (though they are made in Vietnam).

The Doodlewash prompt today is ‘birds”. This is the only one in the house – a rubber owl that we bought many years ago on a visit to the Hawk Conservancy Trust in the UK. No idea what I’m going to draw tomorrow – the prompt is Jellyfish and as I always draw from life, it will be a struggle!
