751 – Produce of sunshine

You can tell I am back in the Philippines when I start sketching bananas. This one was the last one for the May Doodlewash challenge…so congratulations me for finishing all 31 sketches! The prompt was dessert – and for us that usually means fruit.

749 – What kind of bear is this?

If anyone has travelled through Doha they will be familiar with this huge teddy bear sculpture. It’s called Untitled Lamp Bear and is by Swiss artist Urs Fischer. Apparently it’s supposed to celebrate the idea of travel…but with a lamp shoved up it’s back, it looks more tortured to me. I had to perch on a bar to draw this – no chairs in this area! I was also hoping this would count as a panda for the Doodlewash prompt of Wed-30-May.

741 – I want candy

Here is a very fast doodle for the Doodlewash prompt of “candy” for last Saturday. These are three ancient and random sweeties that I found in a box in the fridge…we don’t eat a lot of sweeties so we’ve had these for far too long!

737 – Turtle wallet

Here is my sketch for the Doodlewash prompt of “Turtles” for yesterday. It might be a bit difficult to make out but this is a little wallet made from two pieces of coconut shell and a zip in between. I put all my effort into making it look like polished coconut.

736 – Ladybird on my iPad

Here is my sketch for the Doodlewash prompt of “ladybugs” for Tuesday. In the UK we call them ladybirds. I couldn’t find a single one in the house, so my daughter kindly made me one out of elastic bands – what a sweety-pie.

735 – Favourite pens

Here is another sketch following the Doodlewash May prompt of “pens” for Monday. My favourite pens are a Rotring sketching pen, filled with water soluble ink, and a Lamy Safari filled with indelible ink. I don’t usually leave so much white paper, so this sketch is a bit of a departure for me!

733 – Not sitting still

Today I am catching up with sketches for the Doodlewash May challenge – here is the sketch I did yesterday of our cat for the prompt last Saturday which was “Dogs or Cats”. We are definitely a cat family – but she wouldn’t sit still all day!
