Made an early morning walk up to the local church today – here is the resultant watercolour and ink sketch. It’s a beautiful spot – but I’m thinking that less picturesque scenes are more my forte. I’m not satisfied with any of my recent sketches.

Day 040 – Church in Taguig
I went out on my bike again this morning and decided to draw something with a bit of history (Saint Anne Parish Church). I attracted attention from the local kids while I was sketching – getting lots of nice remarks…I enjoy that, although I’m always a little nervous at the start. My style for the last few drawings has been getting a bit conventional – I’ve been using the same method. Next time I’ll try something different.
Day 039 – Pasig River park
Today I biked along part of Pasig River on my way to Makati. I stopped off at a park at the University of Makati to draw this. The river is a deep, dark glossy blue, almost black….because, sadly, it resembles an open sewer. This drawing doesn’t convey the smell of course… thank goodness.
