69-2266 – Christmas tree and snooze

Here is another sketch done at my sisters house, after eating a nice meal and while others watched “Finding Dory” – although our eldest daughter slept through it and our youngest was focussed on playing Hay Day. My sisters Christmas tree is rather overloaded with decorations, so much so that you can barely see the tree.

69-2264 – Christmas toys

Here is a sketch of my daughter playing a game on X-box with my other daughters new controller. I used my new Schmincke paint set which is lovely – it’s very small and compact and has a little bottle and tray for water. I’m not quite familiar with the new colours in the set (there are only 8 colours), but they are of excellent quality.

2031 – Two Santa’s one pool

I am always on the lookout for something quirky to sketch, so as soon as I saw these huge fibreglass Santa Claus figures in the corner of a store room at the resort we stayed in over the weekend, in Cavite, I was keen to draw them. Why they are in the corner of the room I don’t know, I guess the resort has nowhere else to store their Christmas decorations. This could almost be two separate sketches, but I thought the contrast of subject and colours made it more interesting.

1946 – Mini juice blender

Usually, after each Christmas, I try to draw the presents I got, as a kind of thank you to those who gave them (though last Christmas I didn’t actually manage to finish sketching them all). This is my first one this year. I got this little USB rechargeable juice blender from my nephew. It will be pretty handy when travelling on holiday or for work.

1941 – Merry Christmas

Here is a simple sketch of one of our Christmas ornaments. Given that today is Christmas eve, I thought it would be appropriate. Also to say thank you and pass on seasons greetings to everyone who has liked, followed, encouraged and commented on my sketching posts over the last few years! Here’s hoping for a peaceful and safe holiday season and that 2022 brings an end to the pandemic for everyone with lots more sketching and creating.

1935 – Christmas decoration

Today I only had time for this quick little sketch of one of our Christmas decorations. I think my mum and dad gave us this litle dancer a long time ago. It’s made from clay (apart from the dress) and is quite delicate…amazing that we haven’t broken it yet.
