This is my last sketch in the Turks and Caicos Islands (for a while, as I am heading back home….and posting this in transit for a change) – of the airport of course. Despite all the colour – rare in an airport I find – and the minimal amount of ink, I am still following the #Inktober prompts (this one was ‘snow’). As I was drawing this I was wondering if frozen yogurt (which is what Turk-berry sell) is similar to snow cones – I wouldn’t know as I’ve never tried either of them.

Missed a day sketching (too much work to do) but here is one from the other day – following the #Inktober prompt…a ceiling fan doesn’t really swing, but it’s close enough for me!

Back to sketches for #Inktober – the prompt of ‘fragile’ made me think of two things – glass the the ecosystem….so I combined the two. A glass I had just had a drink from and a big conch shell behind it.

Yesterday I took a break from Inktober and ended up at Turtle Cover Marina again to do some sketching. I did drive around a bit but found nothing but fancy houses on deserted coastlines, all looking like trespassers would be shot if they ventured onto the beach nearby. I had to rush to finish this sketch as it started to rain (hence the blotchy look here and there)…of course by the time I got home the rain had stopped!

This is the closest I can get to the #Inktober prompt of enchanted…I am thinking Snow White and the poisoned apple. Doing these Inktober sketches I am trying to stick to ink and one colour only…I hope it is teaching me something.

This is the third time I’ve tried to draw this trunk. On Friday it seemed appropriate because although the animals on this are probably meant to be lions, I can image them as dogs – which tenuously fits with the #Inktober prompt of husky. I threw the first two attempts away…something I almost never do!

I sat in the car to draw this very quickly (out of the sun) before going home from work. The prompt for #Inktober was ‘build’ …so easy choice…draw a building.

Here is another drawing for #Inktober – the prompt being ‘freeze’. For me this was an easy subject – why not draw the fridge-freezer, which even lends itself to a black and white drawing.
