Here is my third sketch for #Inktober2019 – the prompt was bait, but as I only sketch from life I struggled to find anything to draw. In the end I found these packets of coffee with the name of a fish on them! A tenable connection at best.

Here is my belated sketch for day 2 of #Inktober2019 – the prompt for which was “mindless”. I didn’t have any difficulty choosing my subject for this – what is more mindless than blobbing in front of the TV in the evening – though after a hard day at work…well there is nothing like it, if you need to switch off your brain!

Here is my first #Inktober2019 sketch – I am several days behind! I bought this ring when I lived in Cambodia…I’ve always thought of it as an engagement ring and still remember buying it with my wife many moons ago.

Before I drew this I checked on my progress at doing at least one sketch per day. Since I began doing this in April 2016, I should have done 1266 sketches, so I am 46 behind. Admittedly that is over three years but even so I’m going to make an effort to catch up – maybe the Inktober prompts will be a good incentive!

This is my bedroom window – thick greenery and trees everywhere outside, pressed right up against the glass. When I started this I was thinking only of the trees – then I realised there are bars on the window…to keep me from getting out or people from getting in?

There are shells all over this apartment – and I just discovered two more, plus more plastic flowers, on top of the cupboard over the oven. I haven’t run out of things to sketch in my apartment yet, but I may do soon!

I sat outside my front door to do this sketch – the smallest red car is the one I hired. It’s a Suzuki Swift but the badge on the back says “switf”…someone stuck the silver letters on in the wrong order! At least I don’t have any difficulty recognising it and knowing it’s mine. The other cars belong to my landlady. I finished this one off quickly as the mosquitoes started to bite.

On Sunday it was raining, raining, raining most of the day, so I couldn’t go out and sketch. Instead I drew this in the afternoon – just some stuff laying on the table. The perspective is a bit wonky and my laptop looks oddly squashed, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

This is the second sketch I did at Turtle Creek Marina – again my location was dictated by seeking a bit of shade. For a change I took a photo of just the ink work before painting as I was thinking I would muck it up – in the end I think it looks better coloured. The boat seemed to be named Histar (can you spot the little star)…hence the title.
