Here is one of my regular sketches of a bottle of wine…done right after drinking some. This is Yellow Tail Cabernet Sauvignon and was just perfect…so I thought I’d sketch the bottle to remind me to buy some more next time we are buying wine.

I am not a big drinker – in fact I am a tippler. Apparently the word tipple originates from a Norwegian dialectal meaning to drink slowly in small quantities. That’s certainly how I have a drink these days – anything more than a glass of wine or a couple of beers and I fall asleep!

This sketch follows the #HomeboundSketching prompt of “wine glass” for 30th May. Naturally I had to make sure I had a glass of wine before I drew this. The blue glass is from a glass blowing shop we visited in Damascus many years ago. For any wine buffs out there the wine was Gossips Shiraz.

When I went to the supermarket on the weekend I had forgotten that you cannot buy any alcohol here on Sunday. So instead on the next day (which was a national holiday but miserable and rainy) I thought to draw what I would have used to open beer or wine.
