I tried something different for this sketch. I started with my new watercolour marker pens, splashed on a bit of water, drew a few lines with some watercolour pencils and finished off with some ink. These were flowers my wife brought back from attending a wedding the other day – and I can’t resist sketching flowers.

Last week we went to a wedding of a colleague. This is the corsage my wife wore – she was a wedding sponsor (having sponsors is a tradition here – usually Aunts or Uncles, or respected senior friends. The sponsors participate in some of the ceremonies and are supposed to provide support and guidance to the couple over the course of their wedded lives). The flowers are not real – they are silk and plastic but pretty convincingly lifelike.

Here is my last sketch from the QC Urban Sketchers sketch-walk at Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center last Sunday. This spot is popular with wedding and pre-nuptial photographers – we saw several brides dressed in traditional white and this one in red.
