1415 – Umbrella stand

This sketch was done following the #Melogallery #HomeboundSketching prompt of “umbrella” for 10th May. We use an old rubbish bin to stand our umbrellas in (as well as a few other things if you can spot them). Most of our umbrellas have BDO logos on them – my brother-in-law works for Banco de Oro and regularly gives out umbrellas as gifts.

1133 – Sunny skies

I thought I had brought my umbrella to Turks and Caicos to protect me from the rain, but no – yesterday I needed to use it as a sunshade walking home. Even at 5pm when the sun glares down here, it is roasting hot. This is my second sketch for #WorldWatercolorMonth, this time following the prompt.

Day 161 – Cafe umbrella

Here is the sketch I did today while waiting for the mall to open…I used a Uniball pen, watercolour and watercolour pencils. Something went wrong with the column on the left that should have been in the foreground blocking out the guy on his phone…never mind!

Day 154 – 6750 Ayala from Park Cafe

ACE.154-6750 ayala from park cafe 160903-2-wm

Off to Makati today to pick up my daughter from her trip ‘Malling’, so I went early to do a sketch – this is done in watercolour, ink and watercolour pencils, sitting outside at the UCC Park Cafe next to the Glorietta mall. I struggled with the rolled up umbrella, but got it in the end I hope.
