My neighbour parked their car right outside the window of my apartment…so I took this as a good opportunity to sketch it. Somehow it seems more squashed in my drawing than in real life. As I drew it the sun was sinking and the colours of the sunset were reflected in the shiny paintwork.

This is the view I have out of my hotel window – I sketched this in ink and watercolour just as the sun was going down. There is nothing special about the buildings but they really do glow in the evenings.

Here is a view of our other common swimming pool [I’ve drawn the other one which is round, several times]. As often is the case [becuase of the heat], this was drawn as the sun was setting and it was casting shadows accross the grass and the path next to the pool.
I drew this just before the sun went down again – after long day working (for a change). I don’t really tire of re-drawing the same scenes – each time I see things differently.

This is of the sunlight hitting our condo building, as the sun sets. I don’t have to go far to find inspiration, but tomorrow I’ll go out to find something and will do the drawing in the morning.

I didn’t have much time today, as I had to attend a school meeting. So here is a quick sketch from the balcony of our apartments. I used a dip pen and some old Rotring ink I had from way back.
