116-3416 – Reading helps me to get to bed earlier

I managed to eek out some blue ink from my Platinum Preppy to do this sketch, but now I give up. It constantly blocks (it’s not the pen it’s the ink). These books were left behind by my daughter – she finished them on the beach. A nice easy read like Stephen King is helping me get back into reading (I was far from my goal last year)…and is great for reading in bed.

116-3415 – If you leave it, I will sketch it

Here are some keys accidentally left behind by our daughter’s partner when they went back to the UK. I was thinking of sketching some keys but this key ring is a lot more interesting than mine …with lots of dangly little tags and pouches, several of which, I think, were recently bought from the ArtWork store in Market Market!

115-3404 – Kintsugi again

I sketched this on the second day of our daughter and her partner were visiting us – we made a trip into Makati for ukay-ukay (thrift store) shopping, wabi-sabi lunch (a noodle house in Makati Cinema Square – where we spent too much time trying to get a phone repaired, without success), then Greenbelt Mall. This teapot (from Syria – see sketch No.613 done in 2018) had a plant growing in it and the cats broke it…so another repair job is needed. Kintsugi is the the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery.

114-3378 – Platinum preppy

Because my Kung Te-Cheng Noodlers ink blocked up my Lamy pen, and having done a bit of research, I decided buy a cheap but good fountain pen that I can fill with it (the site I looked at also recommended watering the ink down with distilled water – but that hasn’t worked for me). Anyway I am now the proud owner of a Platinum Preppy fountain pen – though I drew this with my Sailor pen!
