1031 – 1955 Cadillac series 75-23 – Sasakyang Magsaysay

This is the third drawing I did at the Presidential Car Museum with #Kyusisketchers last Sunday. In this one I decided to include the bust of the president who used the car – part of the display of each vehicle. This is Ramon Magsaysay (Sasakyang means vehicle or car in Tagalog) who was the 7th President of the Philippines – he was also a guerrilla leader during the Pacific War.

1018 – Romantic baboy

This is the third sketch I did with Quezon City Sketchers last Sunday. In one of the squares of Centris Walk there was a crowd of people waiting in front of a restaurant called Romantic Baboy Unlimited Korean Grill (Baboy is Tagalog for pig or pork and I assume the restaurant focuses on pork dishes). Their mascot is a pig in a dinner jacket with a rose in it’s mouth, his arm out and his fingers snapping. I couldn’t resist sketching this – Filipinos seem to have a penchant for peculiar restaurant names!

1017 – Centre stage

This is the second sketch I did with Quezon City Sketchers (#kyusisketchers) at Eton Centris Mall last Sunday. As well as the weird mushroom-like objects the open area also has these red gate-like objects – again I have no idea what purpose they serve but they are an excellent subject for sketching. As I began drawing someone kindly stood in front of the stage (set up for some valentine event maybe) and posed (unknowingly) for me.

1016 – Magic mushrooms

On Sunday I joined the Quezon City Urban Sketchers (#kyusisketchers) for a sketch-walk at the open air part of Eton Centris mall. These peculiar huge mushroom-like objects light up at night…and I guess that during the day they provide shade? Otherwise I have no idea what they are really for, though they do make excellent subjects for sketching!
