Here is another sketch from my archive of Cambodia #UbrbanSketches. I drank a fair bit of Sra Beer Angkor – a locally made beer – when I lived there. Although I learnt to speak Khmer fairly well, I couldn’t read or write very well – though I did learn how to write Sra Beer Angkor – that’s what is written on the red sign in this sketch.

Here is another #UrbanSketch from my archive done in 1994 when I lived in Cambodia. I don’t recall the occasion when I drew this – but it was probably somewhere near the old post office building.

I have other sketches to post but our scanner is in the repair shop, so I am posting something from my archives. This one goes back to January 1994 when (if I remember correctly) I went up to Siem Reap on the ferry, for the new year. I remember seeing the new year in on the edge of the Tonie Sap lake while we waited for dawn, so we could cross over the lake. I’ve never seen so many stars.
