2078 – Rattlesnake plant

This little plant has been slowly growing on our balcony for the last 10 years, and after a long dormant time has recently sprouted a few new leaves. I used an app (which takes a photo and then tells you what plant it is) to figure out what it’s called. I was concentrating on the leaves, but should have been more careful and I could have included the pot in the sketch!

41-1351 – A plant I didn’t see before

So here I am back in Turks and Caicos (not to have a holiday on the beach but to work), staying in a place I have stayed before. One of the (very) few advantages of jet lag is that I am up early and have time to sketch before I go to work. This one was done sitting on my veranda in the morning while having coffee. I didn’t see this plant last time I was here…perhaps I wasn’t looking!

1053 – I got a lift home

A couple of days ago I planned to sketch one of the churches I pass on when I walk home…however one of my colleagues kindly stopped along the road and offered me a lift. Although I prefer to walk and get a little exercise, I couldn’t really refuse so instead when I got home I sat outside and sketched this.

#509 – Sad plant

Here is a sketch I did a couple of days ago, of a rather forlorn plant. We bought little house plants like this for our daughters one Christmas…by some miracle (having been neglected, over-watered and then parched) this one has survived for several years.

#419 – Pot plant

ACE.419.pot plant 170616-2-wm

Here is my sketch from today…still finding my way round the paper in my new sketch book. This time I tried wet in wet watercolour and using less ink. I also drew with a watercolour pencil for a change.
