Here are the flowers that our daughters bought my wife on Sunday. Lovely pink daisies and carnations…difficult to sketch though! Plus our crummy printer refuses to scan pink properly for some reason.

Our lovely daughters had some flowers delivered to my wife last Sunday. I just caught them in time with this sketch, because as I write this they are starting to wilt – even the lovely sunflower.

1412 – Big red book
Sunday was another opportunity to join the #Kyusisketchers virtual meet up and the theme (it being Mother’s Day in the Philippines) was “Mama”. The idea was to sketch your mum or something in the home that reminds you of her. As my mum is in the UK I decided to sketch her big red cookbook – which is a scrap book of recipes she collected from magazines over many many years. There are many family favourites in the book – plus space to add more. There is no order to the way they are collected – you just have to either know where the recipe is, or spend hours (of fun) searching.

My daughter studying in the UK was thoughtful enough to send my wife a bunch of flowers in time for Mother’s Day – they are still just about alive…so I did a quick sketch of them one evening.
