96-2904-5 – Orange chair shadows

Orange chair

Here are the last two sketches I did with Eric David and the #SilawArtistCollective, the other day. Like the others, these were meant to be just 15 minute poses, but I think we went over that time. As before the model was @liza_paxley.

96-2903 – Boots

This is the second sketch I did with with Eric David and the #SilawArtistCollective, the other day. I think this is the one I was most satisfied with – I think the more splashy style (much more like the paintings I did when I was at University), was boosted by the (rather strong) gin cocktail that we were very kindly given! I am pretty sure we went over our 15 minute time for this pose…but the model (@liza_paxley) was very patient and stayed nice and still.

96-2902 – Allyza

Here is my first sketch from the #LifeDrawing session with Eric David and the #SilawArtistCollective, in Eastwood, that I joined the other day. Each pose was about 15 minutes and I used ink, a UniBall Pen, #WatercolourPencils and #Watercolour paints. I was a bit late arriving so this first one was a bit rushed. The models name was Allyza (@liza_paxley). I’ll probably post a few of these quickly, one after the other, as I have a backlog of sketches to post!

Life drawing

Here are the other sketches I did at the #LifeDrawing session with the #SilawArtistCollective, in Eastwood, the other day. Each pose was about 20-25 minutes and I used ink, #WatercolourPencils and #Watercolour paints. The first of these was a bit of a disaster…I struggled with the face…and the proportions. But the last one was the one I was most satisfied with – it helped that the pose was compact and uncomplicated.

Life drawing with Eric David

Here are my first few sketches from the #LifeDrawing session with the #SilawArtistCollective, in Eastwood, that I joined the other day. Each pose was about 20-25 minutes and I used ink, #WatercolourPencils and #Watercolour paints. I was a bit late so my first attempt was a bit rushed. The models name was Dredheart…what an unusual and interesting name! I was really only satisfied with the third one in this batch.

89-2742-43 – Couples poses

Here are the last of my sketches from the #PensNBrushes life drawing session a few weekends ago. As I often find to be the case, after several hours of intense drawing and painting (including all the sketches of 2, 5 and 10 minute poses, that I posted earlier), I was only really satisfied with the last one I did!

89-2740-41 – Twenty minute poses

Here are more of my sketches from the #PensNBrushes life drawing session a few weekends ago. After the initial intense sessions we had poses of 20 minutes – so I had time to use watercolour as well as watercolour pencils and ink. I can’t say I was very satisfied with the results though…maybe having more time is not such a good thing!

89-2734-39 – Female model 2-10 mins

Here is the next batch of sketches I did at the #PensNBrushes life drawing session last weekend. As with the male model the first poses were for 2 minutes, then we moved on to 5 and then 10 minutes. I used a mixture of water-soluble graphite, water-soluble ink, watercolour and watercolour pencils. The model was wearing a frilly colour and cuffs…which I thought got in the way a bit. Even when the poses are very short, I find painting with watercolour most satisfying.

89-2728-33 – Male model 2-15 mins

Here is the first batch of sketches I did at the #PensNBrushes life drawing session last weekend. The male model’s first poses were for 2 minutes only, then we moved on to 5 and then 15 minutes, before we had a break. I used water-soluble graphite, some water-soluble ink, watercolour and a #FaberCastell watercolour pencil. You might notice that the model was wearing a white colour and cuffs…a bit distracting for me, but this was part of the organiser’s theme of #AfterTheBall and moonlit figures.
