With two cats our house is dredged in cat fluff. We bought this roller to try and get some of it off the couch. It’s also got a cute little paw as a handle!

This was just a quick evening sketch – of really what was in front of me! For a change I used just two colours – Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine.

Here is the last sketch in sketchbook No.108, done one evening. I am not sure if my sketching is getting bigger but I never even to be able to fit my subjects on one A5 page anymore!

I’m always looking for a smarter way to carry my sketching kit around. I got this pencil case free with some toothpaste but it’s not the best solution because when I dump all my kit into a bucket I can never find what I need. This sketch was done while my roll bag was in the laundry.

108-3241 – Packed for a family outing
This is a cold bag packed with soft drinks and snacks plus some fruit, all ready for a family outing the next day. I love stop sketch brightly coloured things, so this was a perfect subject.

General Tapioca (our youngest cat) always sits on the back of the couch in the evenings. Always appearing startled, he never sits on our laps. He’s also a lot smaller than his brother Captain Haddock.

108-3239 – McDonalds every few miles
I kept this from our long drive back from San Narciso. For most of the drive there seemed to a McDonalds every few miles – many more than the local equivalent junk food outlets of Jollibee. God help the dietary health of the Filipino people. Whenever I think of McDonald’s I member the documentary “Super Sized Me” – here is an article about that.

The #Usk prompt (which I sometimes follow when I am stuck for something to sketch), for this day, was “empty”. Plus I have seen some fellow sketchers repeatedly drawing/painting a coffee mug, so I thought an empty mug would do fine for a quick sketch.

Here are the books my wife bought at Fully Booked on the weekend (Sunday 14th Sept). We spent ages hunting for ‘best books of the year’ and came up with two (that were available)…plus (on top) we bought a cheap sketchbook for journaling.
