Here are the next two drawings I did in my little sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project PH with @1372DESIGNS / @_STUDIO1372. These are of one of a set of mugs we usually drink tea out of and a quick sketch at the food court where we sometimes get breakfast.
Here are the next two drawings I did in my little sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project PH with @1372DESIGNS / @_STUDIO1372. These are of our eldest (and fattest) cat, Captain Haddock; plus one of the clamps I use to make my sketchbooks…as I am gearing up to make the next one.
Here are the next two drawings I did in my little sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project PH with @1372DESIGNS / @_STUDIO1372. These are of a pinecone I picked up on a hike in Montenegro and a quick sketch done when we had lunch at our favourite eatery, Wabi-Sabi in Makati Cinema/Central Square.
Here are the next two drawings I did in my little sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project PH with @1372DESIGNS / @_STUDIO1372. These are of a bag clip that was laying on our worktop, plus a tub of Soyfresh milk.
Here are the next two drawings I did in my little sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project PH with @1372DESIGNS / @_STUDIO1372. These are of a can of beer (Tiger which I think is a Thai brand?) and some people at the local supermarket, sketched when we went there for breakfast.
Here are the next two drawings I did in my little sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project PH with @1372DESIGNS / @_STUDIO1372. I had hoped that using this sketchbook would result in me doing more than one sketch a day…but so far that hasn’t happened!
When I was at the Art Sihan event in September I joined the Sketchbook Project PH with @1372DESIGNS / @_STUDIO1372. This is a community art initiative where participants fill the pages of a small sketchbook over a several months using doodles, paintings, and journaling. The finished sketchbooks will be returned to the studio (in Escolta) for an exhibition in 2027, where visitors will be able to browse through the sketchbooks. These are my first two sketches. I will be sticking to doing quick simple sketches of everyday objects and places, using my platinum preppy pen, Sailor Seiboku ink and watercolour pencils.
It might seem like there has been a gap in my sketching habit, but I’ve been spending my evenings finishing off partly done sketches, instead of doing new ones. It’s not a great habit to leave them partly done – painting from photos afterwards doesn’t work for me and the colours never seem right. I looked at the #DrawTipTuesday video of @KoosjeKoene on YouTube to get the inspiration for this – she suggested experimenting with some unused materials. So I picked up some old coloured pencils (not water soluble) and drew our yoghurt maker (it was my wife’s excellent idea to get one – it was quite cheap and makes lots of little pots from a starter).
