2146 – I forget who gave us these

I forget a lot of things these days…that’s one of the reasons I sketch every day. This was a box of peculiar little chocolates, each one individually sealed in a little plastic box (really bad for the environment) and printed with a picture. Nice chocolate though.

2133 – Resisting the last of the cookies

These cookies were made (by my wife) from cocoa and tablea (tablets of pure ground roasted cacao beans). Tablea are usually used in the Philippines to make a traditional hot chocolate drink by dissolving them in water and milk. I find the traditional hot chocolate too bitter but these cookies were yummy.

1065 – Chocolates before dinner

Here is a doodle from last night – I’d made dinner but was waiting for my wife to come home…so I snacked on chocolates! Something my parents always told me not to do. The chocolates were a Christmas gift from a friend in the UK…you can tell we don’t eat many chocolates! I painted this starting with watercolour, then ink and then watercolour pencils – which I like to use because of the layering effects you can get.

1025 – The last chocolate

As I’m still drawing all the Christmas presents that I received, I thought I should draw these chocolates that were given by an old friend – before the last one is eaten! The brand is called “Lick the Spoon” (what a great brand name) and these particular ones are called “The Bish” – salted caramel over hazelnut and almond praline….yummy!

708 – Chocolate

Here is my sketch from yesterday, following the Doodlewash May challenge prompt of chocolate. This bar, bought as part of a huge bag of chocolates you can buy at duty free when coming back into the Philippines, has melted and re-solidified several times I think.
