More from life drawing classes – another 5 minute sketch.
Sat-24-June-2017

Finally getting round to posting some of the life drawings I did last weekend. This first one was a 5 minute sketch. Others were for longer – up to 30 minutes – this was the one I was most pleased with though.

Another life drawing from a few weeks ago.

Posting some more drawings from the life drawing I attended some weeks ago with ‘the life drawing setup’ and whoaremaro.

Here is another one from last nights life drawing classes at the Life Drawing Setup with whoaremaro. This was a 5 minute pose by a model who is a ballerina (can’t recall her name). Both models were very good – and very challenging to draw!

Joined the Philippines Urban Sketchers yesterday (though I only saw a couple of fellow sketchers and missed the gathering at the end) at the FĂȘte de la Musique. Here is a quick charcoal drawing I did of people waiting for the first act (Reese Lansangan)…by the time I finished she came on stage so she appears at the left edge.

I biked to the mall this morning and decided to stop and sketch this sculpture, which I used to see every day when I was driving to work. It’s called “Kasaysayan Bawat Oras” and is by Juan Sajid de Leon Imao. Google translates this as History Hourly and I gather the dancing figures are supposed to represent 7,100 islands of the Philippines. In the process of sketching I got soaked by the lawn sprinklers, which apart from soaking my watercolour pencils, was kind of pleasant and cooling! The drawing was done in charcoal, pencil, watercolour, ink and watercolour pencils.

Just doodling today while I watched a movie – three doors in our apartment. I did this with a charcoal pencil.

Here is a view of our communal garden – we are lucky to have so much greenery on our doorstep. I started concentrating on the trees [most of the greenery is at the top and out of the picture] but had more fun with the colours of the column!
