40-1294 – Queen’s Park

Last Sunday morning, while waiting for my daughter to get out of bed, instead of hanging around doing noting I went for a little walk near her house and sketched this. I had frozen fingers even though I was wearing new fingerless gloves – yet there were boys kicking a ball around, wearing shorts…I’m certainly not acclimatised to the UK.

40-1293 – Winter trees

Last weekend I drove down to Brighton to see my daughter. I arrived early and had 30 minutes to wait while she came from the train station…naturally I took the opportunity to sketch, but decided staying in the warm of the car was the best idea! This sketch looks towards Queen’s Park.

#568 – Ice skating at Brighton pavilion

Our first stop in the UK was Sussex University where our daughter is studying. On Tuesday she took us in to Brighton where there is an ice skating rink set up outside the Royal Pavilion. I did this sketch from the warmth of a coffee shop, while watching our daughters skate. I got the dates mixed up on the drawing because of the jet lag!
