87-2705-6 – Lights…cameraman – Discover biodiversity

Here are the other sketches I did when I joined #UskManila at the #DiscoverBiodiversity event at the Gateway Mall 2 in Araneta City, celebrating International Day for Biodiversity. The cameraman was a popular subject for us sketchers (while the talks were going on several of us drew him). I found out afterwards (with the help of @nice.r.rodriguez) that the lights I drew are called Klieg Lights (named after inventor John Kliegl and his brother Anton Kliegl).

87-2704 – Isabela Oriole – Discover biodiversity

Here is the first sketch I did when I joined #UskManila at the #DiscoverBiodiversity event at the Gateway Mall 2 in Araneta City, celebrating International Day for Biodiversity. The event was sponsored by USAID and the Gerry Roxas Foundation amongst others, and included a wildlife photo exhibition, part of which you can see in my sketch. The exhibition had these rattan decorative archways … which were adorned with green leaves made from plastic drinks bottles. According to Wikipedia the Isabela Oriole (the yellow bird in my sketch) is a species of the oriole family endemic to Luzon which was presumed to be extinct until its rediscovery in December 1993.
