107-3202 – Book No.4 2025

Here is another book I have started (and sketched like earlier ones this year – see sketches No.3094 and 3060). I’ve read many by Margaret Atwood, but this one is taking a bit to get going. At the same time I am reading something easier (#Mistborn) at bedtime on my iPad.

103-3094 – Book No.3 2025

Here is the next book I am reading. This is the second one in the series (the Thursday Murder Club Series by Richard Osman) I have read (see sketch No.77-2460) – but is the 4th in the series. I haven’t read the first one or the third one or the fifth one. It’s a pretty easy read – good for reading in bed when you are sleepy!

101-3060 – Book No.2 2025

As I said way back in January my resolution this year was to read more and sketch each book as I finish reading them. This is only book No.2 and it was already the end of March, when I sketched it. I confess also that I sketched this before I finished reading it…but I am hoping to finish it while I am on holiday! This his one was pretty good if you like dragons and fantasy – it took me quite a while to get used to the names and engage with the world created, but once I did, it kept me engaged.

2108 – Hogwarts express

This sketch was done for the first day of #WorldWatercolorMonth (I am a bit behind in posting) – following the prompt of “train”. Of course I couldn’t find a train around the house and I prefer to sketch from life, so this image came to mind. We bought this copy of the first Harry Potter book when we lived in Bhutan (hence it’s rather dog-eared appearance) and the series were the first proper novels we read our daughters (every night for many years). I think we enjoyed reading them more than they enjoyed listening to them, as they were still quite little.
