1. Meaning no disrespect to the models, what if you were to draw the model in exactly the same way that you drew the room– when you drew “everything.” Then you wouldn’t be a beginner. Don’t think of the motif as a person (again no disrespect to the model!) but as a collection of interesting shapes. Maybe there are other people visible behind the model — that would be rather extra complicated — but if there’s just room behind her/him perhaps even draw some of the environment — enough to be in your familiar mode.

  2. I love the juxtaposition of the colors that you used, gives the figure life. I remember when I was in my figure drawing group and we would have large women model, it was very different and yet fun to be challenged. The poses can almost be poetic in a way. Enjoy your group, you’ll learn so much!
